AUMOVIS, a German manufacturer of autonomous movable and positionable LED walls, will be making its debut at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) trade show, which takes place from January 30 to February 2, 2024, in Barcelona. The Stuttgart-based start-up will be bringing two AUMOVIS systems to the show, which will be showcased on a seven-by-four-meter performance space.
AUMOVIS consists of an autonomous drive unit on which an LED wall is mounted. This combination can be freely moved and positioned omnidirectional through space. Both the hardware and software for this world-first are in-house developments from AUMOVIS.
Dynamicization of stage sets
The AUMOVIS LED wall enables not only highly precise movement on event stages, studios, or in showrooms. In combination with multiple modules, spectacular visual effects can also be achieved – especially through the synchronization of the kinetic movements with the media content between the modules, with other static media surfaces, or with other stage systems. In addition, the product is recommended for the dynamicization of stage sets or as a flexible media surface to create extraordinary and unforgettable experiences that were not possible before.
As an absolute novelty, AUMOVIS will be presenting the system integration into the Stage Precision Suite at this year’s ISE. This will allow users to use the data of the modules within the extensive suite, for example for tracking or for controlling other show systems. In the previous year, the integration of the AUMOVIS system data into the Vertex Mediaserver from ioversal was already implemented. This allows users to play out media content based on the position of the modules or to interact with real-time graphics with the kinetic movements of the modules.
The overall system weighs 600 kilograms and can reach a maximum speed of one meter per second. The drive unit houses the suspension for the LED wall in portrait format with a width of 1.5 meters and a height of 3.5 meters, the batteries, and a Vertex Mediaserver from ioversal. Both content playback and motion control of the battery-powered AUMOVIS modules are wireless. The product enables 360-degree rotations on the spot as well as circular and curved movements.
Most recently, the AUMOVIS demonstrated its practicality and creative possibilities in the project „The Loubi Show IV“ during Paris Fashion Week. On the occasion of the presentation of his spring and summer 2024 collection, fashion designer Christian Louboutin surprised his audience in the historic Grand Amphitheatre of the Sorbonne in Paris with an avant-garde live performance, in whose dramaturgy the AUMOVIS modules played a leading role.
AUMOVIS
AUMOVIS is the first AI-supported, autonomously movable and positionable LED wall. It can be used for high-precision movements in studios and showrooms as well as on event stages. The product is „Made in Germany“ and has already received innovation funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate and the state of Baden-Württemberg.
