New prospects for Ljubljana
Ljubljana is expecting a successful congress year with close to sixty international scientific and professional meetings and sports events slated to take place. At least nine conferences will bring more than five hundred participants to the Slovenian capital.
The biggest events in Ljubljana this year will be Taekwondo Slovenia Open 2024, the European Congress Of Physical And Rehabilitation Medicine – ESPRM, the 14th International Congress On Autoimmunity, the 21st Ljubljana Fashion Week and 14th LA&HA Symposium, The European Network Of Science Centers And Museums – ECSITE and the 10th European Communication Conference – ECREA.
Fulfilling strategic tourism goals
Most of the events will take place in spring and autumn, contributing to more overnight stays during the year. In addition, business guests have a much higher expenditure compared to tourists. Thus, event tourism has a palpable impact in realising the key strategic goals of Ljubljana Tourism.
At the turn of the year, the Ljubljana Convention Bureau participated in three site visits of potential clients who would like to host their event in Ljubljana.
Conventa and the IAPCO Congress
The preparations for the two most resounding events in the first half of this year are in full swing. Conventa trade show, the leading boutique B2B trade show in New Europe, will take place between 20 and 22 February, followed by the IAPCO Congress between 28 February and 2 March.
The KUL Consortium is strengthening ties between key stakeholders in the meetings industry, as is the Slovenian Congress Ambassador Program, the brainchild of the Ljubljana Convention Bureau. The strategic partnership projects aim to internationalise Slovenia’s scientific and research potential.
