Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is set to revitalize and rebrand the historic Gellert Hotel in Budapest, renaming it as the Mandarin Oriental Gellert, Budapest. Slated to open in 2027, the hotel will showcase an Art Nouveau design and emphasize wellness.

Originally established in 1918 as a grand hotel, the property is situated in the Buda area of Hungary’s capital, conveniently close to the Liberty Bridge, which links the Buda and Pest sides of the city.

This iconic hotel, under the ownership of BDPST Group, will feature 143 elegantly designed guestrooms and suites. It will also host comprehensive wellness facilities, including the Spa at Mandarin Oriental Gellert. This spa will blend the group’s renowned Asian-inspired therapies with unique treatments that pay homage to Hungary’s rich bathing and spa traditions, offering guests a fusion of contemporary and traditional wellness experiences.
