ZAGREB’S GENIUS LOCI
Nestled above the city of Zagreb, the OIV Tower is the city’s highest point and one of its unmistakable symbols. Set at 1118 metres above sea level, the OIV Tower Sljeme offers enchanting, spectacular and unique 360° views. Visitors can enjoy various activities ranging from falconry to tasting ecologically-produced products from local artisans or hiking in the surrounding hills. The venue has become a popular choice among event organisers who wish to reward their attendees with spectacular views.
The tower can host private, business and protocol events, weddings, team-building programs, cultural events, festivals and concerts. The venue’s observation deck has become a great attraction as it doubles as a bar and panorama observation point. Many new additions will be unveiled in the coming years, including a museum dedicated to Croatian sports, a museum of chocolate and a rotating bar.
OIV Tower Sljeme boasts an open-air terrace that is ideal for receptions and boutique events for up to 100 people. The glassed observation deck complements the offer with a unique space that can be tailored according to the wishes of event organisers. From the OIV Tower Sljeme, guests can admire the beautiful nature of Medvednica, the panorama of Zagreb, and even see the faraway Slovenian Alps.
The construction of the tower began in 1973 and lasted until 1976 when it began operating on the 50th anniversary of the Croatian national radio. Originally, two television channels (TVZ1 and TVZ2) and three radio channels (Radio Zagreb 1 and 2 and Radio Sljeme) were transmitted from the Sljeme Tower.
