Montenegro now has its first ski resort hotel with the opening of Swissôtel Resort Kolašin in the Kolašin Valleys. The mountain resort opened its doors to guests in the first days of 2024 as an elegant combination of luxury and nature and the ultimate destination for lovers of nature, skiing and top hospitality.

The Swissôtel Resort Kolasin offers a prime location, just a 45-minute drive from the capital and Podgorica Airport. The hotel’s architecture showcases stone and wood, taking inspiration from the natural materials seen in its sublime surroundings. This Swissôtel Resort is situated halfway up the Kolasin ski slope, ideal for an active or leisurely getaway. From any of the 116 rooms, guests will rise to stunning views of Biogradska Gora National Park and Bjelasica Mountain on their doorstep.

The hotel interior provides cosy relief from the mountains and is equipped with wellness and spa facilities, where guests can relax and unwind at the end of the day. Whether a spa treatment or soaking up the atmosphere, guests are sure to leave refreshed. The Spa and Wellness Centre is the perfect place to relax and recline after a long day on the slopes. Enjoy fine dining and all-day dining experiences at one of the two on-site restaurants.

Surrounded by a dense pine forest on the slopes of the K16 Peak ski village, the hotel offers 116 accommodation units with direct access to the Kolašin 1600 ski slope, ski room services, two restaurants, a bar with a fireplace, a cigar bar and a shopping area of global ski brands. Here, guests can enjoy the view of the slopes and nearby mountain peaks from their comfortable rooms and apartments.

“We are reviving the exceptional alpine ambience with an outstanding team that raises the traditional hospitality of these areas to a new level by creating a personalized experience for each guest. We are convinced that Swissôtel Resort Kolašin will delight guests from near and far and will become their favourite mountain refuge in the ski season and even more so during the summer”, announced Dragana Bećirović, marketing consultant of Kola[in Valleys.

The first mountain hotel of the Swissôtel brand in the Balkans is a tribute to the beauty of the natural environment. Uncut stone and patinated wood are the main elements of the overall design. The blend of rustic charm and modern comfort in the interiors is complemented by restored traditional rugs and old photographs with ski mottos that pay tribute to the winter sports tradition of the area. Behind each door, the refined interior design in wood from the ceiling to the floor introduces guests to the atmosphere of a mountain cabin of luxurious comfort.

As a hotel at the highest altitude in the country, Swissôtel Resort Kolašin promises an unmatched experience throughout the year. Guests can go on outdoor adventures exploring the beauty of Bjelasica or the UNESCO-protected Biogradska Gora National Park, which boasts one of the last remaining rainforests in Europe.

Kolašin enjoys great connections with the Montenegrin Adriatic coast, neighbouring countries and the wider region. A network of rapidly developing highways allows for exceptional accessibility. The newly built highway connecting Kolašin with Podgorica increases the comfort of travel, and the proximity of Podgorica International Airport, only 40 minutes away by highway, ensures access to major European destinations.

Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, founded in 1980, represents true Swiss hospitality combined with intelligent design and the local charm of the destination. As a premium brand dedicated to sustainability and social responsibility, Swissôtel upholds industry-leading standards.
