Ahead of the Meetings Star award ceremony, honouring the best regional hotels, destinations and most influential individuals in the meetings industry, we talked to the finalists of the esteemed competition. Bruna Aleksić, Events Director at the Chedi Luštica Bay, discussed why their hotel’s unique mix of impeccable service and tailored offerings ensure guests always leave with a gleaming smile.

INTRO: Can you describe your hotel using only four words?

Exclusive, sustainable, Mediterranean, and experiential.

Q1: What differentiates your hotel from others?

First of all, the location – surrounded by the breathtaking endless open sea and the natural surroundings of the Luštica peninsula. Beyond that, the omnipresent impeccable service and a personal touch in every detail.

Q2: What are the novelties of your hotel in 2024?

Moving forward on our sustainable initiatives, daily improving our standards and the care for our surroundings. Besides these, we are constantly adding new details to our offers and working on further enhancing our guest experience through our food and beverage offers, activities and programs.

“Chat GPT, like many other things, should be used as a helpful tool, but not exclusively and should always be further improved by human touch.”

Q3: As one of the leading experts in the industry, what are your thoughts on the ChatGPT craze? Is this another marketing hype or an actual tool that will make boring, routine jobs a lot easier?

AI is part of our everyday life, so naturally, it becomes part of our day-to-day business as well. Using it will definitely help in some ways; however, to be different, we still need to look into our guests’ needs and add a personal touch to every segment. Chat GPT, like many other things, should be used as a helpful tool, but not exclusively and should always be further improved by human touch.

Q4: Can you name one problem the entire meetings industry should solve together?

In Montenegro, the main problem in the meetings industry is definitely accessibility. The country should work on making it easier to reach, at least from major European hubs year-round, so suppliers can drive business and keep the level of service constant. Beyond Montenegro, the events industry should follow the sustainability trends further by digitalising some of the processes, reducing waste, offsetting the carbon footprint, etc. Because this is a people’s industry, it should keep bringing people together but, at the same time, take care of the planet for the people of the future.

“Best travel advice: take care of your passport and your wallet, and have fun!”

Q5: Do you enjoy podcasts? Which is your favourite?

Not my kind of fun, unfortunately 😊.

Q6: What is the best travel advice you have ever received?

A long time ago from my father: take care of your passport and your wallet, and have fun!

Q7: If you could take anything home from your favourite hotel, what would it be?

Tough question, as I have been to many great hotels around the world in the recent past. But I would take the amazing atmosphere from Norway, sunshine from Egypt, and a lemon tart from The Chedi Luštica Bay 😊.
