New Director of Vienna CVB

Christian Woronka, who has been successfully leading the Vienna Convention Bureau since 2019, will soon pass the baton to Anita Paic, the new Director of Vienna’s B2B Management department. Woronka will continue his work as the head of management of TMB Tourismus-Marketing Brandenburg GmbH.

Christian Woronka first worked for the Cologne Convention Bureau before being named the Director of the Vienna Convention Bureau in 2019. He was also responsible for the development of the Vienna Meeting Fund. In the current ICCA ranking, Vienna was once again ranked first in the world among congress cities.

Anita Paic will strengthen the WienTourismus team on 1 March 2024. As head of the “B2B Management” department, which also comprises the Vienna Convention Bureau, she will be responsible for the international positioning of Vienna as a travel and meeting destination in the B2B segment.

Anita Paic is an expert in strategic marketing communications with many years of international corporate experience. She has gained experience in several senior positions within the Vienna visitor economy – she has worked in senior positions for the FMTG Falkensteiner Michaeler Tourism Group, the Sacher Hotels and Marriott International. From 2009 to 2016, she was also responsible for the sales strategy of the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien as head of the sales department.

Positioning Vienna as an art and culture metropolis

The Croatian-born Paic, who grew up bilingually in Vienna, is a seasoned tourism professional who studied at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. The tasks of the department headed by Paic in the future include the Vienna Convention Bureau, which is responsible for the global acquisition of congresses, corporate meetings and incentives as well as extensive support for event organisers.

The organisation acts as an intermediary between the Viennese and international travel industries. The focus is on planning and organising marketing measures for defined tourist markets with a focus on premium target groups, positioning Vienna as an art and culture metropolis and addressing the global luxury travel segment. The B2B Marketing Communications team is responsible for Vienna Tourism’s communication initiatives that are aimed at the areas of travel trade, international mobility and the meeting industry.
