Cankarjev dom is hosting the 54th Annual Meeting and General Assembly of the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO) between 28 February and 2 March. Representatives of the leading associations in the global meetings industry will get to know Slovenia through the event.

IAPCO brings together the leading key stakeholders in the global meetings industry. The Assembly and Annual Meeting are of great importance to the local economy and tourism, as local providers hope that international event organisers return to the destination with major events and conferences. Cankarjev dom helped co-curate the event programme.

Maja Pak Olaj, the Director of the Slovenian Tourist Board, emphasised: “The 54th IAPCO Annual Meeting and General Assembly, which is taking place in Ljubljana, strengthens the image and reputation of Slovenia as a desirable destination in the meetings industry. Directors and owners of some of the most prominent congress agencies from around the world get to know Slovenia these days as a country dedicated to sustainability, innovation and high standards of hospitality. The meeting is also an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience in the industry. I am convinced that the effects of this event will be long-lasting and contribute to the further growth of Slovenian tourism and the consolidation of our country as an attractive destination for the meetings industry.”
