LARGEST CITY PARK IN SLOVENIA
Urban Park Velenje, the largest city and skateboarding park in Slovenia, was recently inaugurated in the Šaleška Valley. The sports and cultural meeting place covers 2,200 square meters, where visitors can find a park dedicated to skateboarders and cyclists. The venue also offers two basketball courts and an adjoining stage for concerts.
Refuge for skateboarders
The new infrastructure has already been extolled by skateboarders at the Best Foot Forward competition, the highest rank of amateur competitions in Europe. As part of the 32nd Days of Youth and Culture festival, after the competition, Urban Park was transformed into a music venue with performances by the Backstage and Alo!Stari music groups.
Admission to the skate park, the centrepiece of the urban park, is free. Event organisers can host exclusive concerts, presentations and sporting events here. The maximum capacity of Urban Park Velenje is one thousand visitors. Velenje is experiencing a revolution in events, as the recently opened Vista Park has already hosted the biggest concerts and festivals in the country.
