Developing thermal sciences
Cankarjev dom organised the renowned EUROTHERM Conference as a PCO (Professional Congress Organiser). The conference focusing on fostering the development of thermal sciences took place in Rikli Balance Hotel in Bled, Slovenia. Cankarjev dom’s long-standing partnership with the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Ljubljana helped them secure the 9th European Thermal Sciences Conference. The quadrennial conference was last hosted in Lisbon in 2020. EUROTHERM Conference champions and encourages cooperation between European scientists and engineers specialising in thermal science and heat transfer. The conference offers a welcome space for discussion and the exchange of ideas, methods and results.
Cankarjev dom’s team prepared the conference in close cooperation with the programme board, led by Professor Božidar Šarler from the Faculty of Engineering in Ljubljana. They planned that 250 attendees would take part in the conference. In the end, 350 attendees convened at the EUROTHERM Conference, which was a great achievement for the organisers. They ensured all attendees could choose between and join seven parallel plenary sessions.
Cankarjev dom is a member of the IAPCO and ICCA international associations and a member of the Slovenian Convention Bureau and Ljubljana Convention Bureau. The venue’s membership in the esteemed associations ensures they conduct their work at the highest level.
