Cankarjev Dom has once again solidified its reputation as a key congress/event organiser in Slovenia, hosting several important gatherings covering a diverse range of fields in the first half of 2024. The venue organised the 4th Life with Cancer after Cancer conference, where the speakers highlighted patients’ healthcare journey through the system and their reintegration into social life. They also hosted the IAPCO Annual Meeting and General Assembly, where more than 150 experts from the congress industry gathered and discussed current trends and challenges within the industry. A round table discussion on nuclear energy attracted students from technical faculties and offered a chance for a lively discussion on the safety and sustainability of nuclear energy.

The BSF panel discussion brought together representatives from Israel and Palestine, who shared their efforts for peace in the Middle East. The Schrott Days were dedicated to doctors and pharmacists who shared new developments in family medicine and telemedicine. The ACER agency presented the latest findings at a meeting in Ljubljana, while the Working Group for Interventional Cardiology discussed advances in cardiovascular medicine.

The meeting of the Slovenian Institute for Adult Education brought forth the challenges and opportunities in adult education, while the congress of the European Society of Physical and Rehabilitative Medicine hosted 900 participants learning about the most current achievements in the field. The strategic conference Value of Innovation gave insight into the world of innovations in pharmacy and medicine. During the “Derčevi dnevi” conference, the participants discussed the ethical questions arising from innovations in pediatric medicine.

The Slovenian Conference on Addiction Treatment introduced advancements and several treatment programmes. Sustainable mobility was the main point of the roundtable discussion, attracting predominantly students of the respective fields connected to the theme. The International Fotona Weekend convened a record number of 1,300 participants focused on the advancements in the field of medical lasers. The European Conference on Thermal Sciences encouraged international cooperation among experts in the field, set against the backdrop of the picturesque Bled. In the following days, the Symposium on the advancements in robotic kinematics brought together experts and researchers in the field. Between 5 and 9 July, Cankarjev dom also hosted the 27th International Congress of the Colour Vision Society, where hundreds of doctors, optometrists, psychologists, animal physiologists, neuroscientists, engineers and industrial designers came together from across the globe.

By hosting the mentioned events, Cankarjev has shown once again that it is the leading Slovenian congress and event organiser. With innovative approaches and impeccable professionalism, the venue continues to attract the world’s foremost experts to its events.
