The Tourist Farm Marof is located in the charming village of Bistrica ob Sotli, set amidst the pristine Kozjansko region, near thermal baths. The farm is surrounded by flat fields and meadows, which on one side quickly transition into the forested slopes of Orlica and on the other into the picturesque landscape of untouched Kozjansko with vineyards. It is no coincidence that the location of the farm was chosen for a castle granary, a barn, and a hayrack during the time of the Kunšperk Counts in the Middle Ages, as evidenced by the thick stone walls of the buildings that are still preserved today.

For those seeking relaxation, Marof offers a wellness centre complete with Finnish and infrared saunas, lounging areas, a private jacuzzi room and massage rooms where guests can choose from various massages and skincare experiences. The wellness facilities are complemented by an outdoor terrace with stunning views of the surrounding landscape, creating a perfect setting for rejuvenation.

Marof offers 4 bright, spacious and modernly equipped apartments ranging from 2 to 8 guests. Their exceptional location allows guests to enjoy nature in a peaceful rural environment in the heart of the Kozjansko Park and Nature 2000.

At the heart of the farm is a rich tradition of viticulture, with vineyards producing top-quality white, red, and sparkling wines. Managed by Simon, the farm’s successor and a passionate winemaker, Marof’s seven thousand vines are cultivated with care and dedication, producing varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat, and Blaufrankisch. Guests can enjoy wine tastings and guided tours of the cellar, offering insights into the process of wine production and maturation. Tours are available for groups of up to 50 people.

To complete the farm experience, Marof organises a series of agritourism activities, including field games, carriage rides, and creative workshops such as pottery, and painting. Guests can make their own teas and creams, bake their own bread and desserts or help with gardening, vineyard work, and caring for small animals. For those eager to explore the surrounding countryside, bike rentals are available.
