ICC Sydney General Manager, Adam Mather-Brown said with another year of conventions, exhibitions, gala dinners and concerts ahead, ICC Sydney remained committed to investing in local wine producers.
“Our ICC Sydney team is resolute in championing the quality and diversity of wine from the region, having purchased more than 24,000 bottles of premium Orange wine last financial year – elevating our total procurement to more than 150,000 bottles from Orange since opening.
“We are proud to offer event attendees the opportunity to taste the very best of local produce through our NSW First procurement philosophy. One quarter of our 100% local wine list originates from Orange and alongside the fresh produce we source from Orange and Central West farmers, we are committed to enriching the dining experience of our clients and delegates,” Mr Mather-Brown said.
President of the Orange Region Vignerons Association (ORVA), Nashdale Lane Wines owner Nick Segger praised ICC Sydney for its steadfast dedication to showcasing the region’s best drops through its global platform. “The resilience of Orange wine growers to overcome environmental and operating challenges is rewarded in spades as we proudly produce premium drops that can be enjoyed by millions of visitors to ICC Sydney every year.
“ICC Sydney’s ongoing support not only directly contributes to the economic prosperity of regions like Orange but allows us to showcase our world-class wines to new global and national audiences,” Mr Segger said.
While in Orange, ICC Sydney Food and Beverage Manager and Sommelier William Wilson met with existing partners as well as prospective local vignerons, alongside ICC Sydney’s sponsorship of the ‘Best Exhibitor’ category of the 2024 Orange Wine Show Awards, which recognises the achievements of the region’s winemakers.
William Wilson, the driving force behind ICC Sydney’s three NSW Sommelier’s Wine List awards for curating the venue’s extraordinary selection of local wines, remains devoted to showcasing wine and produce from the region.
“Regional New South Wales is renowned for its exceptional wine, and this visit highlights our continued commitment to supporting Orange and Central West NSW wine producers. I welcomed the opportunity to connect with our wine industry partners and celebrate exceptional wines through the Orange Wine Show platform,” Mr Wilson said.
ICC Sydney sponsored the Best Exhibitor of Show accolade at the Orange Wine Awards for the seventh consecutive year – a category that was won by Tamburlaine Organic Wines – one of the venue’s many local wine suppliers.
