The congress highlighted the growing importance of nutrition science in modern society. One fo the key highlights of the event was the plenary lecture by Prof. Dr. Sc. Jasna Novak from the Faculty of Food and Biotechnology at the University of Zagreb. Her lecture, titled “Redefining the Gut Microbiome Through Biomodulators,” presented groundbreaking findings on the role of prebiotics, probiotics, symbiotics, and postbiotics in maintaining gut health.
The congress addressed a variety of critical topics, including biotics, plant-based diets, the use of nutritional supplements in healthy individuals, and innovative food industry products. A special emphasis was placed on encouraging young scientists and researchers, with the opportunity to present their work through the poster section. The best contributors were awarded prizes for their excellence.
One of the congress’s most interactive elements was the professional workshops, offering hands-on learning, collaborative discussions, and practical problem-solving exercises. A dedicated program segment for students and young nutritionists provided a valuable opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills through active participation.
In addition to the professional development opportunities, the congress facilitated networking and knowledge exchange through social events in Zagreb. Attendees had the chance to connect at various gatherings, including a gastronomic event and a gala dinner, fostering a collaborative and friendly environment full of networking opportunities.
The 9th International Congress of Nutritionists served as an invaluable platform for experts and scientists across nutrition, medicine, pharmacy, food technology, agronomy, and psychology to expand their knowledge, present cutting-edge research, and contribute to the advancement of the profession in an ever-evolving and dynamic field.
