Popeau joins PCMA after 10 years collaborating with global corporations, non-profits, and government agencies, including the United Nations, to develop and implement sustainable and innovative solutions.
In this role, Popeau will work to evolve PCMA’s global sustainability strategy, manage strategic partnerships, lead the Convene4Climate (C4C) initiative and develop a comprehensive sustainability course for the global business events community.
As Karamat shared, PCMA remains committed to its role as a conductor for the global business events community, creating platforms and environments which foster global sustainability, collaboration and engagement across events, research, education, content, and products.
The Events Industry Council (EIC) awarded PCMA’s Convening Leaders 2024 with its Silver certification in recognition of the association’s sustainability efforts. The association is currently working towards Gold certification for Convening Leaders 2025.
Further to industry certification, PCMA and four foundational partners — Destination Canada, Fáilte Ireland, Marina Bay Sands and United Airlines recently joined PCMA and The Strategic Alliance of the National Convention Bureaux of Europe (SANCBE) to collectively inspire and transform the global business events industry through the lens of sustainability over the next three years. The 2025 C4C will be held on 17 October in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
