A proverbial hop away from Mozart’s hometown, Scalaria, one of Europe’s first event resorts, has been redefining how events are organised in Austria and beyond. Overlooking the glistening Wolfgangsee, Scalaria is a one-off event venue combining designer rooms, breathtaking event locations and professional event organisation.
From exclusive gala events, meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences, product presentations, congresses, and team-building activities to impressive events, Scalaria can welcome from 10 to 1,500 participants. Event organisers have an abundance of halls at their disposal – from 6 event rooms, 3 multifunctional stages, to 10 modern seminar rooms. Not least, events can be staged on the water stage directly on the Wolfgangsee.
When guests become part of the show
Among the most unique event rooms is the DO-X teatro, an innovative and top-class theatre hall boasting a spectacular view of Lake Wolfgang. It offers guests space in three galleries for an unrestricted all-around view of the stage. Guests become part of the show and experience the excitement and inspiration of it all. Attesting to the quality of the event space is a quote by the famed actor John Travolta, who said he had not seen “anything like this before”.
The venue is also home to a theatre restaurant offering live cooking and an uninterrupted view of the Alps. It is a magical and memorable venue where a brand or product takes centre stage. It can seat up to 400 peckish attendees. For a hint of historical flavour, event organisers can choose the historic part of Scalaria, built in 1890, which can be booked out as an entire floor.
From a floating water stage to an underground grotto
In the summer months, the floating water stage on Lake Wolfgang offers an extraordinary location for showcasing brands. Here, only the sky is the limit. As the sun sets, you can take your guests to Scalaria’s mystic underworld, an underground grotto and tunnel system with hidden corridors and a large dome in the middle of the rock offering an exclusive dining and afterparty spot.
Scalaria is the brainchild of Peter Gastberger, the entrepreneur who succeeded in “awakening the stagnating Salzkammergut region from its slumber”.
