The city of Split is set to welcome a stunning addition to its coastline: the Mövenpick Hotel Žnjan, a 4-star urban beachfront resort. Under the management of Accor SA, this ambitious project is already under construction and slated to open for the 2026 season. The hotel is designed to blend modern luxury with the natural beauty of Dalmatia, promising guests an unforgettable experience.

A Groundbreaking Development

Construction work on the Mövenpick Hotel Žnjan officially began this autumn, with teams working tirelessly to bring this vision to life. The hotel will feature two underground levels and six above-ground floors, spanning a gross area of 17,000 square meters. With a total investment of 25 million euros, this project marks a significant milestone for Split’s tourism infrastructure.

Engineering Feats

The construction process has been meticulously planned and executed to ensure every detail aligns with the high standards expected of a Mövenpick property. Over 10,000 tons of concrete have been used so far to create the hotel’s structural pillars and foundation, ensuring durability and safety.

A Collaborative Effort

This project is a collaboration between the Croatian architectural studio Pulsar Arhitektura, led by award-winning architect Alan Pleština, and renowned interior designer Kristina Zanić from Dubai. The Calgary investment group and Prague-based investor Damir Špoljarič have joined MPPD in realising this landmark development. Their combined expertise and financial backing are ensuring the project stays on schedule.

Once completed, the hotel will offer a host of luxurious amenities, including:

156 rooms, all with breathtaking sea views.
A rooftop infinity pool with a lounge and gourmet restaurant.
A spa, wellness centre, and gym facilities.
Conference facilities are designed for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions).
120 parking stalls for guest convenience.

Sustainability and Innovation

The construction team is also committed to sustainability, employing eco-friendly materials and practices wherever possible. For instance, the design incorporates energy-efficient systems to reduce the hotel’s carbon footprint. The architects drew inspiration from the natural beauty of Split, ensuring the hotel harmonises with its surroundings while adhering to modern environmental standards.
