BESarawak has launched the International Journal of Business Events and Legacies (IJBEL) Volume 3 Issue 2 at IMEX Frankfurt 2025, another significant step towards research-driven impact.

As the only academic journal dedicated to the intersection of business events, legacies, and global development, IJBEL continues to shape discourse on how business events contribute to economic growth, sustainability, and long-term transformation.

The launch of Volume 3 Issue 2 introduces a fresh collection of peer-reviewed studies, case analyses, and innovative perspectives that reinforce the vital role of business events in shaping industries, societies, and policy decisions worldwide.

Datuk Snowdan Lawan, Deputy Minister for Creative Industry and Performing Arts of Sarawak, said, “For Sarawak, data-driven research strengthens our ability to align business events with economic priorities, such as sustainable development, investment attraction and talent growth. With a structured, data-driven approach, Sarawak’s business events can be catalysts for long-term legacy impact.”

Launched at IMEX 2025, the world’s premier trade show for business events, the journal underscores Sarawak’s leadership in driving research-backed strategies that amplify legacy impact, knowledge exchange, and global connectivity. With contributions from leading scholars, policymakers, and industry practitioners, IJBEL Volume 3 Issue 2 serves as a platform for deeper collaboration between academia and event professionals, bridging theory with actionable insights.

Senthil Gopinath, CEO of ICCA & Chairman of the IJBEL Advisory Board, added: “IJBEL stands as a pioneering platform dedicated to advancing research, knowledge, and thought leadership in the global business events industry. As the journal matures, it is now ready to stand independently as a leading platform for business events research and legacy impact.

“We call upon all business events associations, industry leaders, and convention bureaus to join IJBEL in advancing knowledge, shaping policy, and driving meaningful change in the global business events landscape.”

Now in its third year, IJBEL continues to furnish business events researchers and industry practitioners with a multidisciplinary perspective, real-world case studies and learnings and serves as an additional platform for destination showcasing.

IJBEL is a collaboration between BESarawak, the International Congress & Convention Association as the exclusive international association partner, Curtin University Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi MARA and Sarawak Research Society.
