The first edition of the Mexico Hospitality Expo kicks off in Guadalajara, marking a new industry event focused on innovation and sustainability, which aims to become the leading hub for all the actors in the industry in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.

From May 6 to 8, Expo Guadalajara hosts the debut edition of the Mexico Hospitality Expo, organised by Fira de Barcelona through its Hostelco brand in collaboration with Expo Guadalajara. The event gathers over 300 brands from ten countries, spanning 9,000 m² to showcase cutting-edge solutions for the hotel and restaurant industries.

With 5,000 expected attendees, MHE aimed to become the leading platform for the hospitality industry across Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. The event brings together professionals from various sectors, including hotel chains, restaurants, cafeterias, wellness centres, gastronomy schools, and more. A significant portion of visitors, about 15%, comes from Central America and the Caribbean.

The exhibition covers a wide range of categories, from hotel equipment and technology to food and beverages, interior design, and services. A robust conference programme which featurs over 50 national and international speakers, who discussed pressing issues such as sustainability, circular economy, energy efficiency, digitalisation, and technology-driven customer experiences. Additionally, live experiences and specialisation workshops took place, including cooking demonstrations, tastings, and discussions led by industry experts.

MHE also hosted the 6th edition of the Encuentro Internacional Hospitality Design & Wellness: México-Caribe, marking the first time the event was held outside Spain. Organised by Piscina Barcelona, this conference brought together architects, designers, and hospitality managers for presentations and business meetings focused on wellness and hospitality design.

Fira de Barcelona’s international expansion strategy continued with MHE, reinforcing its global reach. The Mexico Hospitality Expo joins a series of events scheduled worldwide in 2025, including Smart City Expo editions in New York, Curitiba, and Puebla, as well as others in Buenos Aires, Santiago, and Shanghai.
