Despite their small size, bees have an outsized impact on the planet. A single bee flies up to 88,500 kilometres to produce just 0.5 kilograms of honey, visiting around 2 million flowers in the process. One hive can house approximately 50,000 bees, yet each bee will produce only 1.5 teaspoons of honey in her lifetime.
