Modern equipment and instruments make this space a unique place for the professional development of young lyricists, authors, singer-songwriters, producers, composers.

The “Western Balkans Songwriting Hub” – a regional centre dedicated to the development of young authors, musicians, and producers – has been opened in Lozionica, the centre of creative industries and innovation.

The Hub is fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for music creation and production, making it a unique space for the professional development of musical talent. The equipment and infrastructure will be available to musicians and young professionals free of charge, with prior reservation of a slot, starting from December 1, 2025.

The director of Lozionica and head of the national platform Serbia Creates, Ana Ilić, emphasises that this project is yet another strong example of regional cooperation. “After the first Songwriting Hub was launched in Banja Luka, the opening of the second one in Belgrade further strengthens the creative bridge we are building across the region. While we were developing the vision of Lozionica, we envisioned precisely such projects – those that empower, educate, connect, and support the creative sector. Lozionica was created to be a home of ideas, innovation, and artistic collaboration, and today we can see that vision coming to life.”

She adds that many projects come and go, but this one is different: even after its completion, the Songwriting Hub’s full equipment, instruments, and infrastructure will remain in Lozionica as a permanent legacy, available to artists and creators.

The space will be available to all interested lyricists, composers, singer-songwriters, producers, and other music creators every working day from 12 PM to 8 PM, with mandatory prior registration and a slot reservation.

In the next three months, within the project, numerous activities will be carried out, including:

– Mentorship programs with producers and authors from the region – through workshops on lyric writing, composing, production, and post-production.
-An educational segment dedicated to topics such as: the DIY approach, marketing and promotion in the music industry, artificial intelligence in music, copyright and related rights, tour planning, and other key aspects of the music industry.

At the end of the program, a concert will be organised where participants will have the opportunity to present new songs created during their stay in the Hub, and the best will receive additional visibility and promotion.

The project is being implemented in cooperation with the City of Banja Luka and the Serbia Creates platform, with support from the European Union and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).
