Minor Hotels, a leading global hotel owner and operator, has signed a management agreement with MK Group for Hotel Palace Portorož in Slovenia, marking the group’s debut in the country and expansion along Europe’s Adriatic coast. From 12 February 2026, the property will be operated by Minor Hotels and will reopen for the 2026 season in late March, ahead of an extensive refurbishment.

Located in the resort town of Portorož, the 183-key Hotel Palace Portorož is designed for guests seeking privacy and highly personalised experiences. The resort blends contemporary luxury with the area’s longstanding wellness heritage, offering three restaurants and three bars, a spa, indoor and outdoor pools, beach access, and a dedicated MICE area for meetings and events.

Following refurbishment, the property will relaunch in Q1 2027 as Hotel Palace Portoroz, Minor Reserve Collection Slovenia, joining Minor Hotels’ new luxury soft brand, created for independent luxury hotels with a strong sense of identity and place.

The hotel is owned by MK Group, a leading Adriatic-region company with businesses across tourism, real estate, renewable energy, agriculture and the food industry, operating in Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and Montenegro. Both partners see the project as a strategic step that aligns with Slovenia’s reputation for sustainable tourism and wellness-led hospitality, and with Minor Hotels’ ambition to grow its luxury footprint across Europe.
