Events among the fertile hills of Styria
Set among the fertile hills between Loče and Zreče stands a winery that seeks to be more than just a stop for wine tastings; it is a venue where gatherings unfold with a strong sense of respect for the place, its people and the land. The story of Vinska klet Sanctum at Lipoglav reaches back to the 12th century, when monks settled at the Žička kartuzija and brought with them vines of French Pinot Noir, planting them on the southern slopes of Klokočovnik and Lipoglav.
Vinska klet Sanctum is a boutique winery led by experienced winemaker Marko Podkubovšek and his family. All wines are produced without artificial additives, using spontaneous fermentation and minimal intervention. Around 30,000 bottles are produced each year in line with the winery’s regenerative philosophy.
Continuing the tradition of the monks, Slovenia’s first Burgundian-style winery was established here; with the name Sanctum, it conveys a message of something hidden and sacred.
Event organisers can arrange their gatherings in collaboration with local chefs, ensuring that wine tastings are always paired with regional cuisine. The venue can accommodate up to approximately 100 participants. For companies or incentive groups, special tastings, wine-and-dining evenings, or guided walks through the vineyards with a concluding experience in the cellar can be arranged.
