Between 1 and 4 July 2026, M&I Healthcare Brighton welcomed 130 vetted buyers and 150 suppliers from across Europe specialising in healthcare events. Over 4,400 meetings took place across Brighton over four days. The event provided an opportune moment for M&I to present its 2027 Healthcare host destinations: Dallas and Milano. The resounding success of the brand’s dedicated European healthcare forum will now see M&I expand to North America, enabling attendees on both sides of the Atlantic to partake in a marketplace designed exclusively for their sector.

Hosted at DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton, the event included four days of pre-arranged one-to-one meetings, exploration tours and informal networking across the city’s most scenic venues. Education was also central to the programme. In partnership with 3Sixty, it included four workshops focused on compliance at healthcare events and on research insights into healthcare professionals’ expectations for congresses. Eligible delegates also had the opportunity to earn continuing education accreditation, as well as professional development and new business connections.

What makes M&I Healthcare events stand out?

M&I Healthcare is among a handful of events designed exclusively for the healthcare and life sciences community. Every meeting complies with ethical and regulatory requirements that are the norm in the healthcare industry. As the Managing Director of M&I, Paula Jurvanen, summarises: “Healthcare and life sciences meetings demand a different approach. Planners need partners who already understand the sector’s unique compliance, regulatory and operational requirements, not generic conversations. The success of M&I Healthcare in Europe has shown there is interest in a dedicated marketplace, making our expansion into North America the next step.”

A momentous expansion to North America

The event provided a timely moment for M&I to launch its 2027 event calendar. Two new additions include Dallas and Milano, which will host healthcare events in 2027. Dallas was chosen for M&I Healthcare’s North American debut in 2027 for its standing as one of the United States’ leading healthcare and life sciences hubs. With more than 90,000 biotechnology and life sciences professionals, 138 acute-care hospitals, and research institutions, including UT Southwestern Medical Centre, the city offers the expertise, connectivity, and infrastructure to host healthcare meetings.

Commenting on becoming the host destination of the renowned event, Craig Davis, the President and CEO of Visit Dallas, said: “We are thrilled to welcome the M&I Healthcare team to Dallas and look forward to showcasing everything our great city has to offer. Dallas is a world-class destination for the healthcare and life sciences industry, offering state-of-the-art meeting facilities and outstanding connectivity.”

On the other side of the Atlantic, M&I Healthcare will partner with Milano and Partners to welcome the event to one of Europe’s leading healthcare and life sciences hubs. Home to a €74.5 billion life sciences economy and host to major international congresses, including CPHI Worldwide, Bio Europe Spring, and EHA, Milan offers scientific expertise and event infrastructure.

Fiorenza Lipparini, GM of Milano and Partners, said: “We are proud and genuinely delighted to welcome M&I Healthcare to Milan in 2027. This is not simply a prestigious event coming to our city. It is a recognition that Milan has earned its place among Europe’s foremost destinations for scientific and medical congresses.”

A ripple effect for Brighton

Dotted with red-brick Victorian-era edifices, iconic piers and artisan vendors, Brighton is often considered a lively weekend getaway destination an hour’s drive from the UK’s capital. Yet, with over 80 international conferences hosted here year-round, the city’s versatile venues and sea breeze have also become a boon for the event and healthcare sector. M&I Brighton was a welcome addition to the destination’s event calendar, boosting the local economy and creating a ripple effect throughout the city.

Beyond the meeting hall, exploration and culinary tours took attendees into Brighton and beyond, where they engaged in seafaring activities, sampled local wines and followed in the footsteps of King George IV, who commissioned the Royal Pavilion. This opulent palace pays homage to Chinese, Indian and Indo-Saracenic design. M&I once more proved how important it is to take meetings beyond meeting halls and to allow attendees to gain a more personal view of the destinations they visit.

The Brighton event proved that M&I Healthcare events act as catalysts for host destinations and, more importantly, as accelerators of business among healthcare professionals.

M&I has found a market niche with a tried-and-tested format that is in demand on both sides of the Atlantic, underscoring the strong momentum behind its continued growth.
