THE LEGENDARY SUMMER CAFÉ NOW A VENUE FOR EVENTS

The summer café of Mlečna Marijanca, originally built in 1847, has reopened its doors within Terme Dobrna. This legendary café — once frequented by distinguished ladies and gentlemen who gathered here to enjoy whey, fresh milk, coffee and chocolate — has now been given a new role as a multi-purpose event venue. The building’s historic ambience thus adds further value to one of the oldest thermal spa institutions in Slovenia.

An Exceptional Setting within the Spa Park

The event center Mlečna Marijanca, with its magnificent ambience and exceptional location within the spa park of Terme Dobrna, provides a distinctive setting for both corporate and private events. The main Panorama Hall (115 m²) can accommodate up to 120 participants and is equipped with state-of-the-art presentation technology. The hall is suitable for seminars, conferences, symposia, team-building programmes and gala events alike. A particular feature of the space is its natural wooden flooring and the abundance of daylight.

Event organisers may also opt for the Salon Hall, which offers a high level of privacy for business meetings or more personal occasions, while the outdoor terrace of the Bistro provides an excellent setting for culinary experiences. Guests can also stay overnight at Mlečna Marijanca, as the recently opened Apartment Marija offers beautiful views through the tree canopy, accompanied by the calming atmosphere of a forest-bathing setting. Selected artworks by the renowned artist Biljana Unkovska add the finishing touch to the venue.

Did You Know?

The unique healing thermal water that has attracted visitors for centuries also drew Johann Strauss II to Terme Dobrna in 1853. During his stay, he composed a polka named after the spa: Die Neuhauser-Polka. It is likely that the celebrated composer also sampled whey, which at the time formed part of the spa’s therapeutic programme.
