A NEW VENUE FOR EVENTS AND CONCERTS

The Municipality of Škocjan has recently opened the doors of the new Škocjan Cultural Centre. The centre is intended to become a cultural hub for performances, exhibitions, concerts and business events. Covering approximately 700 square metres, the building is centred around a spacious main foyer, where event organisers can host exhibitions, receptions and smaller conferences. The new facility is distinguished by its energy-efficient design, surrounding green areas and a timber façade that defines its monolithic cubic form.

The largest hall of the new Kulturni centre Škocjan, equipped with modern sound systems and stage lighting, can accommodate up to 260 participants, while the smaller conference hall provides seating for 60. Both halls are intended for use by local and visiting artists, contributing significantly to broadening cultural horizons in the area. An added feature of the building is its library, which aims to encourage intergenerational knowledge transfer. At the same time, the centre is already looking to the future, as it will also become home to a planned kindergarten that will support the education and development of the youngest generations.

In addition to its main hall, the Kulturni centre Škocjan also offers several smaller rooms intended for workshops, lectures and more intimate events. The new centre will support the preservation and promotion of local cultural heritage, while remaining open to new artistic directions and innovation.

More than 500 people attended the opening of the cultural centre, where the Mayor of the Municipality of Škocjan, Jože Kapler, emphasised: “This is a space that will bring our community together and offer opportunities for personal growth and development.”
