Vilnius was chosen ahead of another shortlisted city, Ljubljana, following a highly competitive bidding process. The Lithuanian District Heating Association (LDHA) put forth Vilnius’ bid with the support of Go Vilnius, the city’s tourism and business development agency.
“The Euroheat & Power Network’s decision to bring such a significant event to Vilnius is amazing news for the city. Over the past few years, Lithuania’s capital has employed a number of technologies to upgrade the heating sector, which has benefitted DH customers across the city and is recognised as one of the most advanced in Europe. We look forward to welcoming some of the top leaders to Vilnius and hope they will enjoy all the experiences our city has to offer,” remarks Go Vilnius Director Inga Romanovskienė.
The Euroheat & Power Congress will be the first major international energy sector conference of this scale hosted in Lithuania and is expected to bring over EUR 280,000 in economic benefits to Vilnius.
