In July 2022, the first hotel room has been revealed to showcase the design of all upcoming rooms. Responsible for the design is Spain-based interior designers Tres Cinco Uno. The new design blends the unique historical features of the hotel with a modern, minimalist style inspired by the city of Prague itself in an abstract way. The new design introduces the characteristic colour palette present in the facades, roofs, and historic buildings all around the city.
The first mockup room reveals the contemporary and minimalistic design with the dark green colour prevailing. However, after spending just a few seconds in it, guests start to feel its warmth hidden in numerous details, with the softness of the beautiful light hardwood floor under the feet or designer lamps, mirror wall feature and large windows which fill the interior with sunlight. A comfortable seating area under the windows creates the perfect nook for relaxing reads of books or putting your feet up after long Prague walks.
Czech craftsmanship at the forefront of the hotel’s design
Czech craftmanship played an important role in the design of the room, from the custom-made green cabinets of the wardrobes with design handles, to glass pendant bedside lights advocating the Czech glass tradition within the contemporary design approach. The heritage-protected fireplace at the hotel lobby inspired the standing lamps with backlit alabaster discs and Nero Marquina marble on the bedside tables. The art in the hotel rooms has been sourced from local artists and customized for the design and feel of each room, using the colours to match and contrast at the same time, while making the room feel fresh and alive. Modern travellers will welcome the interactive TV, coffee machines in the room and sustainable details, like locally sourced materials, upcycling during renovation works, wooden key cards, natural cosmetics in recyclable bottles, all amenities plastic packaging reduced to a minimum and local selection of products in minibars.
The bathrooms on the other hand offer a spa-like feel with heated floors, rainfall showers and a contemporary style where the traditional local limestone became the inspiration and is covering the bathroom, floor to ceiling.
