Brisbane Truck Show to attract over 40,000 attendees at BCEC

The Brisbane Truck Show returns with impressive displays of cutting-edge rigs at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC). Opening day attendance shatters records with a remarkable 37% increase.

Brisbane Truck Show 2023 is on at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, home of the Show since 2011, until Sunday May 21.

As the biggest automotive exhibition in the Southern Hemisphere, The Truck Show stands alone as the premier event in Australia for the transport industry. The prized event is expected to generate $40 million in economic benefit for Brisbane, delivering 70,000 room nights to city hotels, attracting an anticipated crowd of 40,000 industry heavyweights, truckies and enthusiasts from Queensland, Australia wide and further afield.

Due to the continuing success of the event, which is organised by the Heavy Vehicle Industry Australia (HVIA), the Show is now a week-long Brisbane festival of all things trucking, extending into the South Bank Parklands and other locations.

The Show features the biggest showcase of zero-emissions vehicles ever assembled under the one roof in Australia, from battery and hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles to conventional trucks powered by hydrated vegetable oils, as well as hybrid diesel-electric vehicles.

Occupying more than 35,000sqm of display space, the exhibition includes the biggest names in international transport, making a dazzling display worth tens, if not hundreds of millions of dollars, all demonstrating the show’s key themes of innovation, safety, sustainability and knowledge.

The Brisbane Truck Show, which is the largest exhibition held at BCEC, both in size and scale, occupying the venue’s three levels, has a multiplier effect on the economic impact due to the involvement of suppliers, contractors and others working on the show.
