The hotel will feature 81 guest rooms and offer access to various meeting and event spaces equipped with up-to-date technology. Dining options at the site will include a restaurant with sea views and a terrace facing the promenade.
IHG Hotels & Resorts Europe development vice-president Willemijn Geels said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Uniprom Hoteli to bring our Crowne Plaza brand to Budva – a destination that continues to attract tourists on the Adriatic coast.”
“The signing marks an exciting step in our strategic expansion across the Balkans. Crowne Plaza Budva will offer guests a premium stay in one of the country’s most dynamic coastal cities, becoming a standout destination for both business and leisure travellers.”

The hotel forms part of Crowne Plaza’s broader European growth strategy, which currently lists more than 110 properties open or planned across the continent. Among the recent projects in the region include Crowne Plaza Durres in Albania, due to open soon, as well as another site under development in Kolašin, Montenegro.
IHG currently operates 12 hotels within the Balkans across Bulgaria, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Slovenia, and Serbia, and has ten more in progress. The addition of Crowne Plaza Budva will increase IHG’s footprint in Montenegro to five operational hotels, joining Regent Porto Montenegro, Crowne Plaza Podgorica, Iberostar Waves Herceg Novi and voco Podgorica.
Uniprom Hoteli owner Veselin Pejović said: “We are excited to partner with IHG Hotels & Resorts to bring one of the world’s most trusted premium brands to Budva. Crowne Plaza Budva represents an exciting opportunity to showcase the best of Montenegrin hospitality in a location that is already renowned for its beauty and vibrancy.”
The Crowne Plaza brand runs more than 400 hotels worldwide and continues to expand its presence through developments in city centres, airport locations, resorts and suburban areas. The brand recently updated its visual identity and guest programmes to support changing travel patterns.
Once operational, Crowne Plaza Budva will join 92 existing Crowne Plaza hotels across Europe and a development pipeline that includes sites such as Crowne Plaza Katowice, Crowne Plaza Paris Marne-la-Vallée, and Crowne Plaza Istanbul West.
