With delegate travel responsible for the majority of event emissions, a new MICE forum is challenging the industry to rethink how it meets.

From 20–23 September 2026, MeetSleepCycle Slovenia will bring together 60 senior MICE professionals, 30 buyers and 30 suppliers, combining a structured forum with a guided cycling journey through one of Europe’s most sustainably managed destinations. MeetSleepCycle was conceived when Louise Laker, Founder of Eat Sleep Cycle, met Chris McQue, MICE industry expert and former agency head, is on a cycling tour. Frustrated that Sustainability in events is often discussed but rarely experienced, they evolved the “Sustainability in Motion” format that unites responsible delivery, human connection and destination experience in one purposeful forum.

Chris McQue, Co-Founder of MeetSleepCycle, says: “After working together on a similar cycling-led networking event in Girona-Costa Brava, we realised we were onto something unique. In an increasingly digital industry, how often do we get to put our phones away and have real conversations? As cyclists, we instinctively understood that people connect differently when they move together. MeetSleepCycle was built on that insight because in the end, people rarely remember what you tell them, but they always remember how you made them feel.”

Over three days, buyers will complete up to 26 pre-scheduled meetings with carefully vetted suppliers, alongside expert-led education on carbon budgeting, responsible programme design and delegate wellbeing. Three different locations and hotels are showcased throughout the tour, with five-star hospitality bringing this immersive destination discovery to life—from the road to the table.

The journey begins in the Alpine landscapes of Kranjska Gora, continues through Bohinj — a UNESCO biosphere reserve, before arriving in Bled, where picture-perfect lake and mountain landscapes frame the final stage of the forum. The cycling format is inclusive, with top-of-range sporting and e-bike options available and expert road-crew support throughout. The aim is shared pace, not performance, creating space for clearer thinking and strong partnerships that last well beyond the ride.

Supported by Liberty Adriatic, Sustainable Slovenia, Hit Alpinea, Sava Hotels, Eco Bohinj Hotel and Planet Positive Event, MeetSleepCycle Slovenia 2026 invites ambitious event professionals ready to move from discussion to action. Applications are now open for senior corporate, agency and supply chain event professionals.
