Filmed across ICC Sydney’s A Quick Yarn podcast studio and within The Cutaway itself, the series offers audiences a rare behind-the-scenes look at the venue’s connection to Gadigal Country, architectural vision, construction journey, cultural significance and future role within the Barangaroo precinct.
Through conversations with First Nations knowledge holders, artists, designers, architects, construction, placemaking, and venue operations leaders, the six-part series reveals the thinking, collaboration, and cultural storytelling embedded in the venue’s design and operation. Topics range from the First Nations cultural heritage that informed the venue’s design to the craftsmanship behind its architectural elements, to the engineering challenges of creating the space beneath Barangaroo Reserve, and the role The Cutaway plays in bringing people together through shared experiences.
The episodes feature conversations with representatives from Bangawarra, Pink Puggle, FJC Studio, FDC Construction & Fitout, Placemaking NSW, alongside ICC Sydney.
