The 24th annual AIME Asia-Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo kicked off on Tuesday 23 February 2016 bringing together event professionals on a colourful exhibition show floor with a huge variety of national and international exhibitors, plus jam packed knowledge sessions, destination presentations and networking events.

Hosted Buyers held thousands of critically important meetings with exhibitors from all corners of the globe including Thailand, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Turkey, Philippines, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, all showcasing their destinations, venues and event suppliers to corporate and association event buyers.

Karen Bolinger, Chief Executive Officer, Melbourne Convention Bureau commented on the opportunities that AIME delivers attendees. “We welcomed delegates to the AIME Welcome Event on Monday night, with great success. Attendees were taken on a journey showcasing ‘one year in Melbourne in one night’, highlighting the many diverse experiences available throughout our thriving city.

“The show floor is spectacular and it’s great to see our community coming together to network and do business. AIME is a real platform for the industry, and an invaluable opportunity to connect with each other. This collaboration powers the business events industry, so together we can produce engaging and comprehensive incentives, conferences, meetings and events,” said Ms Bolinger.

Ian Wainwright, Event Director – AIME, Reed Travel Exhibitions expressed his delight. “The high calibre of exhibitors and attendees is indicative of the industry’s excitement and investment in this show. The show floor looks absolutely amazing and that is thanks to the dedicated and experienced exhibitors on site.

“We’re also proud to say that all of the Australian Convention Bureaux are represented at AIME this year, which is a great highlight and something that really adds value for attendees,” said Mr Wainwright.

The AIME Knowledge Program inspired the waiting crowds, with Saxton Speakers Bureau presenting UK Business Speaker of the Year, Richard Gerver and creative-industry guru, Craig Davis, who shared their business experience and offered advice.

Other highlights from AIME included a visit from Lisa Wilkinson, official “Mate of the Territory” who visited the Northern Territory stand at 12.20pm on Tuesday to discuss the appeal of the NT for business travellers.

A LIST’s Open House was a hub of activity, where attendees could grab a drink and something delicious to nibble on, while the creative suppliers including Madame Tussauds, Cheeky Food Events, AV1 and Melbourne Group Events to name a few, provided inspiration for event organisers.
