Name and surname: AMELA MEMIĆ

Company: GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre

Position: Assistant project manager

CAREER PATH

As a student at Faculty of architecture I had different jobs. Eventually my path led me to GR. First, I worked on different fairs (like Nature & Health Fair and Home Fair) and then I began to work in the congress department. It is a very dynamic job that includes working and connecting with people. All that, plus a great team were the reasons why I fell in love with my current job.

Q: What is your favourite meetings brand?
GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre is known for its flexible halls and their possibility to host different types of events. Our moto: “Everything possible“ represents one of best parts of this job – to imagine concepts and draw floor plans or 3-D models of stands for various types/concepts of events. The thrill and the rush during the assembly of an exhibition suit my dynamic character.

Q: What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done?
The bravest thing was to learn how to surf even though I was very afraid in the beginning. Surfing is like a metaphor of life. You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf.

Q: What’s your alternative career fantasy?
“Passion for fashion”. My alternative career would be to design clothes since I was drawing all days long already at the age of 4.

Q: What are you obsessed with at the moment?
You could say that I am obsessed with books and sometimes I get so into reading that I can’t stop reading until I get to the last page.

Q: Your goals before 50?
To enjoy life with my family and friends. To learn how to make every day count.
