‘Everything is closer’ does not only apply to Denmark’s infrastructure, but it also relates to the country’s DNA and key characteristics, such as ‘hygge’ and inclusiveness as well as the easy access to knowledge clusters and suppliers from the meeting and congress industry in Copenhagen.

The new brand platform, designed to help key players in Denmark’s meeting and events industry promote the destination to event planners and associations in search of their next event destination, plays heavily on a number of factors including the unique Danish lifestyle and Danes’ knack for modern design, architecture and innovation.

Being home to one of the most well-connected and fastest growing airports in Northern Europe, Copenhagen is Scandinavia’s most accessible capital city. From the moment they arrive at the airport, delegates and event planners can jump on the metro or a regional train, both of which will take them to the city centre in less than15 minutes, and from there they are likely to be just a short walk away from their hotel.

“From a conference and meeting perspective, the short distances are particularly attractive for delegates hoping to get a little bit more than just a quick glimpse of Copenhagen. Instead of spending precious time getting from A to B, delegates will be able to explore the city just as they will have more time for networking and for technical and cultural tours,” says Kit Lykketoft, Director of Convention at Wonderful Copenhagen.

Copenhagen is also home to major universities and life science and innovation clusters, bringing delegates and organisers closer to world-renowned researchers and smart solutions. In addition to that, organisers looking for a one-point entry to suppliers from the city’s meeting and congress industry will have access to a unique and comprehensive network of suppliers ranging from venues and hotels to DMCs and restaurants.

Venues in Copenhagen are easily reached, either by foot, bike or by public transport. Thus, the city’s largest venue, Bella Center is only a 10-minute metro ride away from the city centre, while another large Copenhagen congress venue, CPH Conference is located right in the heart of the city, next to the trendy Meatpacking District. Here, delegates can get close to the Danes and the Danish way of living at one of the many local bars and restaurants in the area.

In fact, when in Copenhagen, delegates can easily get close to the city’s key characteristics such as sustainable living, ‘hygge’ and world-class gastronomy. They can jump on a bike and ride along the locals, eat local and organic produce at one of the city’s many first-class restaurants or visit Copenhagener’s old-time favourite amusement park, Tivoli Gardens. In other words, Copenhagen brings delegates closer to the Danes and the Danish lifestyle.

The ‘Everything is closer’ campaign will among other things be rolled out on social media. Partners will also be able to use the campaign toolkit or share the video specifically made for the campaign.
