The torch visited eight locations, while the main event of the torch carrying began in Mojstrana, at the Alpine village that has the most athletes in the country – 21 to be exact. The torch also made a stop in Tržič, Celje, Velenje, Maribor and Črna na Koroškem before returning to Ljubljana on 29th of January for the official presentation of Slovenia’s Olympic team.
The Union Hotels are the proud golden partner of the Slovenian Olympic Team and while being supportive to the team Slovenia they had an opportunity and honor to welcome them in the Grand Union Hall, introducing Slovenia’s Team for the Winter Olympics 2018 to the public. Next to the athletes, the Union Hotel’s team also proudly awaited the Olympic torch, which founds its home in Grand Hotel Union for a day.
The Union Hotels and Olympic Committee of Slovenia have been cooperating since the year 1993. In the year of 2017, they have agreed to cooperate also in the future – to be exact, until the end of the Summer Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo.
