FROM SUBSTATION TO ART SHOWROOM
An art revolution has taken Prague by storm. New modern art museums and exhibitions have been popping up all over town. One of the most unique is Kunsthalle Praha, founded as a non-profit platform that showcases Czech and international art. The venue formerly housed the Zenger Transformation Station building, a stone’s throw away from the Prague Castle. The industrial elements, including copper wires and coarse concrete, were preserved to connect the past with the present.

A showroom for contemporary art across Europe
Kunsthalle Praha is home to three large gallery spaces, a design shop, a bistro, and a café with a terrace. The latter is a hidden gem few visitors know of. It features charming views of Petřín Hill and Prague Castle. Here, event organisers can host an event or reception for up to 400 attendees with an artistic backdrop. Recently, visitors could enjoy a temporary exhibition by the duo Elmgreen & Dragset, one of the most recognised contemporary artists in Europe.

Unique bistro concept
After observing unique art pieces housed by the Kunsthalle, guests can retire to the uniquely designed bistro. It has become a favoured brunch place on Sundays, where guests can enjoy the atmosphere of an industrial bistro with the DNA of the former electrical substation and the present-day space for culture and contemporary art.
