In Slovenia the year 2019 will not bring any major openings of new hotels, though a number of investments are planed, which will be completed after 2020. Investments in the Adriatic however, are continuing, and in 2019, hotel investments will exceed 1 billion EUR. We reviewed the most interesting announcements of new hotel openings that also include congress capacities.

What will make this boutique hotel special is a big wine cellar, perfect for organising all kinds of culinary incentive programmes. The hotel will offer 28 rooms, a top-class restaurant and a conference room.

The largest hotel investment was carried out according to the conceptual design of the renowned 3LHD Architectural Bureau at the site of the former hotel in Rovinj. This five-star hotel will have 209 rooms, six restaurants and a congress center.

Hotel Bellevue, Dubrovnik

Hotel Bellevue Dubrovnik

The renovation of the hotel was designed by the Portuguese design studio Tereza Prego. It is the biggest renovation after 2006, which will completely change the look of the iconic Dubrovnik hotel.

Hotel Ambasador, Split

An investment of 17 million euros will bring 101 hotel rooms and a smaller conference center to Split. The hotel will be located at the site of a former hotel from 1937.

The 4 star hotel will be built in two phases. In May 2019, the hotel section with 207 rooms will open. In the second phase, the whole resort with a large spa, congress hall for 400 people and a terrace with a beautiful view of Split will be completed.

After the renovation, the four-star hotel will include 190 rooms, a wellness center and a large hall for weddings and events. The legendary Opatija hotel will enrich Opatija’s congressional offer.

The hotel will be renovated by the end of 2019. Since it is protected as architectural heritage, it will be renovated in historical style. It will include 50 luxurious rooms, and a large terrace suitable for hosting receptions and organizing events.

One&Only, Portonovi

The first One&Only resort in Europe will include 113 rooms, 10 exclusive villas and the Espace Chenot Health Wellness Spa. A smaller conference center will also operate within the hotel. The hotel will be part of the marina and an exclusive resort, considered the most exclusive on the Adriatic.

Hilton Garden Inn, Zagreb

Investor: Zagreb City Hotels
Opening: By the end of the year 2019

The business hotel will open as part of the Green Gold Business Center. It will be suitable mainly for business guests and will include a smaller conference center. The hotel will have 150 rooms and will be an important acquisition for the EU Presidency project that Croatia will take over in 2020.
