Every day of the weekend, from Friday to Sunday, a special City Beach will be open in Maribor. The CityBeach, set on the Drava embankment’s terrace MariBox, will provide a true beach vibe to lovers of urban culture, to local dancers in the Sun, and to those who enjoy spending their time in open-air space. The CityBeach will have a beach platform, a swimming pool, sports playground, cocktail bar, street food, and a stage set by the river for concerts and DJs. In addition, there will be visualisation and laser show that will take care of the explosion of positive vibrations along with refreshing drinks and tasty street food.

The City Beach Maribor is a part of the 4th Drava Festival which started on the 18th of May and will take place in the Drava Regional Park, set by the river, and on the river itself for two months straight. Drava Festival’s aim is to present the river Drava and its many features to the locals as well as to the foreign visitors to Maribor, the 2nd largest Slovenian city located between the Drava river, the green Pohorje plateau on one side and, on the other, sunny wine-growing hills that stretch all the way to the Austrian border and beyond.

Drava River Festival wants to raise the awareness of the healthy and quality living environment that the river allows, and to display the importance of the river’s preservation. At the same time, the festival wants to connect both individuals and providers of diverse services or products, thus stimulating cooperation for joint sustainable development and promotion of the Drava River’s region in Slovenia.

With the CityBeach part of the festival the Drava Festival achieves its goals: it raises awareness about the river’s importance for the city, it entertains, it gives an opportunity for healthy and fun time spending and it boosts cooperation and promotion of the region through the culinary services that enrich the urban and cultural experience of the event. Hence, any congress and business guest to Maribor should certainly not skip the Maribor’s City Beach to experience the region in a fun, active and connecting way.
