Maribor, the second largest Slovenian city, lives and breaths with wine culture as its history has been visibly intertwined with wine-making. The most renowned sight of Maribor is its Old Vine House with the Oldest Vine in The World growing at its front. However, Maribor does not rest in its  throne of one of the owners of the world’s richest wine heritage, but it rather all-year-round tirelessly organizes and hosts events connected to it.

Among other events during the year, every autumn, Maribor shines in events dedicated to wine from September,  when the Old Vine Festival brings to the city crowds of visitors from Slovenia and abroad, and all the way to late November. Here we present some of wine events that a congress or business visitor to Maribor can attend while up and around the capital of the Slovenian Styria.

On the 4th of November, Pubec – Salon of Young Styrian Wines will take place at Porsche Ptujska cesta. ‘Pubec’ is a word in Styrian dialect for a boy, a kid. PUBEC in a funny way simbolizes young wines, while at the same time it is related to the Styrian region that the Salon connects. The naughtiness that the name implies is not a coincidence, as the Styrian young wines are renowned for their freshnness, fruitiness and potability. PUBEC brand is for white wines that impress with their naughtiness, playfulness and freshness.
