One&Only’s hotly anticipated One&Only Portonovi in Montenegro will begin to welcome guests from 1 July 2020. The ultra-luxury resort will be One&Only’s first in Europe and is set to become the most fashionable destination on the Adriatic. This ultimate resort will include Chenot Espace – a first-of-its-kind wellness concept for guests looking to lead a more active, healthy and balanced life, as well as Sabia by Giorgio Locatelli – one of the finest Italian chefs in the world.
One&Only Portonovi sits at the entrance of the wild and beautiful Boka Bay, a sheltered idyll on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast, surrounded by spectacular mountains. The nautical playground is adjacent to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kotor and a 238-berth superyacht marina and helipad. Portonovi is designed on an impressive scale to reflect the architectural style of the old Venetian palaces of the region including grand facades, majestic colonnades, signature red terracotta roofs, gardens and an extraordinary array of indoor and outdoor pools. A private sandy beach will rival the finest of the Mediterranean.
At the centre of the resort is Chenot Espace, offering pioneering treatments scientifically designed to enhance guests’ vitality and optimum health. The culinary experience, led by executive chef Nancy Kinchela, includes refined Italian dishes with a focus on wellness from Giorgio Locatelli at Sabia, Asian fusion dining at Tapasake and farm-to-table fresh Montenegrin cuisine. Accommodation
All One&Only Portonovi’s elegant guest rooms, suites and villas will be positioned for guests to enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding marina, bay and mountains, with various interconnecting options and clusters for groups and families seeking flexible space. The spacious 113 guest rooms will feature sleek, modern fireplaces for cooler nights, expansive bathrooms the same size as the bedrooms with space to recline and lounge, as well as large floor-to-ceiling windows and terraces for guests to relax against the backdrop of the mountain and bay views.
One&Only Portonovi’s Suite One is a one-bedroom presidential suite with a private wine cellar which guests can choose to stock with their personal selection of 268 bottles of wine from Europe and the region, an outdoor dining area seating up to twelve people with sublime views of the mountains and bay, indoor and outdoor fireplaces and a separate butler entrance.
The resort will offer two secluded expansive villas; the three-bedroom Villa One (463m² interior and 1,750m² outdoor space) and two-bedroom Villa Two (218m² interior and 930m² outdoor space). Each villa is set in its own fragrant garden with an outdoor shower and private pool, as well as a hydrotherapy pool with six massage stations, and incredible sunset views over the Adriatic Sea, all paired with exceptional service from a dedicated team of butlers, chefs and valets.
Cuisine and Mixology
One&Only Portonovi is set to become the dining destination on the Adriatic coast with a variety of distinctive, world-class culinary experiences. Sabia by Giorgio Locatelli, the Michelin-star chef’s first restaurant in the region, will serve refined Riviera-style Southern Italian cuisine with a focus on fresh seafood and vegetables and a Raw Bar offering organic crudo and fresh mozzarella. Tapasake Club will be a relaxed yet vibrant pool club serving contemporary pan-Asian, tapas-style fusion cuisine, with its own sake bar and regular DJ sets. La Veranda will champion locally sourced ingredients and Montenegrin-inspired cooking styles, with an open kitchen and live cooking stations. Located in the Lobby, Caminetti Bar will welcome guests with expansive views over the terrace, gardens and sea, providing an extensive beverage list – ideal for an aperitif or post dinner cocktail – as well as afternoon tea and modern bites.
