Тhe Gallery of Matica Srpska was founded in 1847 in Pest (former part of Budapest, Hungary) under the auspices of The Matica Srpska, the oldest cultural, literary and scientific institution of Serbian people. Matica Srpska stands out as Serbia’s oldest and most significant scientific foundation. The gallery has to this day witnessed some of the most important gatherings and decisions tied to Serbia’s history.
Besides the permanent collection, the Gallery organizes the temporary exhibits based on its own fund. The permanent exhibition of Serbian Art from the 16th to the 20th century makes a great and unique backdrop for corporate meetings and presentations. For an added cultural note, the participants or delegates can leisurely walk through the exhibits of the museum as a private viewing of Serbia’s treasures.
