The Budva Citadel is set at the highest point of the town of Budva. The views from the Citadel are unparalleled, showcasing the splendour of one Montenegro’s most celebrated locations. In the evening, the Citadel and its surroundings come alive with its bars and restaurants. The venue transforms into a summer stage every year and becomes the stage for the annual City Theatre Festival Budva. The Citadel is a unique venue for organising events in one of Montenegro’s most beautiful cities and is suitable for seminars, events, or conferences.
The Citadel was built in 1936 by the Austrian Army, in order to house the Austrian soldiers, who were stationed here during WW2. The venue is not just a historical venue but is also home to a town museum, a state library and several restaurants.
