INCENTIVE EXPERIENCES AT A SUSTAINABLE GUESTHOUSE

At the crossroads of the Ptuj Plain and the Prlekija region, The Point recently opened its doors, building on more than 40 years of the Žiher family’s tradition. Alongside its distinctive cuisine, centred on local, seasonal ingredients, the venue offers a dedicated Business Point, a meeting room for up to 15 people and unique incentive experiences.

Across the Ptuj Plain, interesting destinations for business meetings are increasingly emerging beyond established conference centres. One such venue is The Point in Moškanjci, which combines accommodation, gastronomy, business facilities and a cycling centre into an offering particularly suited to smaller groups. The Point is especially well suited to executive meetings, strategic workshops and multi-day team gatherings.

Taking the meeting outdoors and onto two wheels

The direct link to incentive programmes is Bike Point. Guests can choose from ten Cube electric bikes, including eight trekking and two mountain bikes. For larger groups, additional bicycles and logistical support can be arranged through local partners. The flat cycling routes along the Drava River provide an excellent starting point for leisurely excursions, while the more varied trails towards Haloze and its wine-growing hills are ideal for longer rides.

For a more varied programme, The Point offers Drava Paddle & Bike, developed in collaboration with the Pure Sport team. The experience combines cycling with guided activities on the Drava River, ranging from kayaking and canoeing to rafting and stand-up paddleboarding. Upon request, the programme can be complemented with a guided visit to Ptuj, a gold-panning demonstration or a picnic featuring local delicacies.

Meeting a boxing champion and trying your hand at gold panning

The most distinctive part of the offering lies in experiences that are closely connected to the people and heritage of the region. The DravaGold programme takes participants across the Drava River to Zlatoličje, where, under the guidance of Dr Sašo Šantl, they discover the tradition of gold panning and try their hand at the craft.

A more athletic experience comes in the form of a boxing session with Dejan Zavec. Under the guidance of the former world champion and his team, participants learn the basics of boxing training. The experience continues at The Point with food and an informal gathering with Zavec, who shares insights into his sporting career and his experience with motivation, perseverance and team support.

The building itself was constructed according to sustainable building principles. The architects used more than 210 cubic metres of Slovenian timber, with wood and wood-based insulation accounting for approximately 90 per cent of the external thermal envelope. Energy-efficient solutions include wood-chip heating, a solar power plant with battery storage and rainwater harvesting for toilet flushing.
