MEET RIGA faces major restructuring
MEET RĪGA is the official Convention Bureau of the city of Riga and a department of the Riga Tourism Development Bureau. Aigars Smiltans has been the Director of Meet Riga for over a decade, planning, creating and running the bureau. He has played an integral role in developing Riga as a meeting, conferences, congresses and corporate events destination, while helping industry professionals choose the right suppliers.
In his latest Linkedin post, Aigars revealed that he is leaving his duties due to major restructurings and the closing of the Convention Bureau.
“It was a great 10-year period of meeting vivid, wise, marvellous and inspiring people from the Meetings and Events industry and a time of gaining new lifetime friends! Thank you for sharing with me your inspiring stories, advice and know-how! And special thanks to the one who mentored me!” said Aigars Smiltans
“I would like to say special thanks to the personalities of the Meetings & Events industry of Latvia, who supported me throughout all those years! I will have a short break and there will be less of me on social media, but stay tuned and see you around!”
