Looking forward to MEETEX 2021

Less than a month is left until the third Croatian meetings industry trade show – MEETEX 2021, which became the leading meetings industry event in Croatia after only two editions. Not even the last year’s challenges and inability to hold live meetings could stop the organizers from sharing all the advantages of Croatia as a meetings and incentive destination with international hosted buyers this year. To that end, they have devised a special format for the show, which will take place both through virtual B2B meetings in March and live gatherings through Post MEETEX study visits in September.

Abundance of contents for after-meeting breaks

The national meetings industry show MEETEX 2021 will be taking place from 16 to 18 March via the Marcom platform, with one-on-one virtual meetings and optional direct private chat during free time, which will remain open for another 30 days after the working part of MEETEX 2021 ends. In addition to B2B meetings, during the formal part of the show, additional program will take place on the virtual platform, offering educational and promo contents. The platform will be able to live stream multiple channels at the same time, and the video materials will be available to participants for another 30 days after the event ends, while the MEETEX website will host them even longer, albeit with limited access.

The keynote speaker will be one of the leading figures of the global business events industry, Zagreb’s and Croatia’s friend Rob Davidson, who will talk about the current state of the industry and new trends. He will be followed by Croatian experts who will discuss current issues, one of them being Jasminka Đaković of the Putopis company, who will hold a business workshop on the importance and use of social networks in the meetings industry. Through special sessions titled “Inspired by Croatia – take me somewhere nice”, international hosted buyers will have the opportunity to meet representatives of local tourist boards and hotel companies from all parts of Croatia through videos and live talks. Participants will also be able to virtually tour Croatia’s best business hotels. As a must at this kind of events of today, the schedule includes relaxation, stretching and meditation breaks, aiming to help get rid of “virtual” fatigue.

Major interest of international hosted buyers in Croatia as an incentive destination

Despite the global pandemic and a highly unpredictable situation in the meetings and incentive industry, there is lots of interest in Croatia, especially in the incentive travel segment. The majority of hosted buyers participating in this year’s show come from Western and Northern European countries, such as Germany, Great Britain, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, France, Italy, Switzerland and others.

After the working part and B2B meetings are over, suppliers will be able to rate every hosted buyer via an app and single out those they would like to meet in their respective destinations. This will result in a most optimal and direct selection of top-rated hosted buyers, thus enabling them, in the fall, to get together with local suppliers who share a real common interest. The selection will be followed by invitations to hosted buyers and arrangements for study visits across Croatia, as an opportunity for them to actually experience the country’s destinations.

This year’s edition of MEETEX 2021 is organized in cooperation with the partners who have been supporting it from the very beginnings – Croatian National Tourist Board, Zagreb Tourist Board and the Croatian Chamber of Economy, with the sponsorship of Falkensteiner Hotels & Residences and Rixos Hotels.
