Web Summit is opening its software to the world. They are excited to announce that their first customer is the United Nations. They couldn’t imagine a better first customer for the product they’ve spent almost a decade perfecting.

Over the course of the last decade, some of the world’s most influential media have suggested that Web Summit’s offline and online events are the best in the world. What sets Web Summit apart? We think it’s their software.

Web Summit’s largest team – their engineering team – has designed, built and tested the software for nearly 10 years. Two goals have always guided how they build their software: “engineering serendipity” and “increasing meaningful connections”. Web Summit’s aim is to build software that makes events as valuable as possible for attendees.

Until now, they’ve kept their event software to themselves. Today, that changes with the United Nations. In the coming years, Web Summit hopes to help power many of the world’s leading events, as well as the events of many of the world’s leading organisations.

You can join the waitlist to try the software here, or experience an event using the software in two weeks’ time by joining as a guest at the United Nations Development Programme Istanbul Innovation Days, March 23-25.

Today, the organisation is also announcing 50 new roles, mostly in engineering and related positions.
