THE MOST EXCITING MARITIME MUSUEM IN NORTHERN EUROPE

The Seaplane Harbour is home to Tallinn’s unique seaplane hangars, as well as the historic Lembit submarine, numerous boats, yachts and naval artillery. In 2012, the facility opened as the most exciting maritime museum in Northern Europe. The indoor venue is suitable for pre-and post-conference parties, receptions and other special events. The site is a functioning harbour as well, so why not start or finish your event with a little ride on the Baltic Sea or hold the whole function outdoors?

REMARKABLE AND RECOGNISED ARCHITECTURE

The Seaplane Harbour accommodates one of Europe’s grandest maritime museums. Guests are invited to see the authentic submarine Lembit from the 1930s, the century-old steam-powered icebreaker Suur Tõll, a Short 184 seaplane replica, mines, cannons and many other life-sized exhibits. The museum and the Seaplane Hangar have been recognised with a number of awards: Estonia’s Most Tourist-Friendly Museum 2012, Europa Nostra Grand Prix 2013, Special Commendation from the European Museum of the Year 2014, and a number of others.

The Seaplane Harbour museum is a memorable experience for all visitors: lots of interesting reading, a voyage around the world in the Yellow Submarine, photos taken in naval uniforms, the big aquarium, the simulators and many more exciting activities.

The Suur Tõll icebreaker is at the quay of the Seaplane Harbour. This museum ship, Estonia’s oldest and most dignified, is one of the three steam-powered icebreakers from the early 20th century that have been preserved in the Baltic Sea region. Once among the world’s most powerful icebreakers, the steamer has flown the flags of Imperial Russia, Finland, the Soviet Union and the Republic of Estonia.
