Bochnia Salt Mine is the oldest salt mine in Poland. As a mining facility, it has been operating continuously since 1248. For the last 20 years, it has also served as a tourist destination: the mine now offers 3 routes of different difficulty – the multi-media route, the Horse Route and the Old Mountains Expedition. The mine is also an extraordinary place to organize sports events, conferences, seminars, business and integration meetings.

Underground ferry crossing

The world’s only ferry crossing of an underground chamber flooded with brine is without a doubt the biggest attraction of the Bochnia mine. Tourists cross the distance of 120 m in a chamber flooded with brine, accompanied by two raftsmen, who spin colourful tales of the mysterious recesses of the Bochnia mine. The crossing is made in 12-passenger boats. The mysterious venue, the eerie light and the sound of oars striking the surface of the water make the moment memorable and allow you to experience an extraordinary adventure!

Underground Events

The extraordinary beauty and the unique, fairy-tale atmosphere of the Bochnia mine have been appreciated by many visitors and companies, who organized their corporate events and conferences in its undergrounds. The Bochnia Salt Mine organiSes conferences, training sessions, and team-building events for companies. The Ważyn Chamber is the largest chamber of the Bochnia salt mine that can host up to 500 persons.
