Bratislava once again welcomed and opened the doors to the imaginary and real gates of Winter Tyršák. This year, the festival offers tasty food, drinks and a pre-Christmas atmosphere. Visitors of Bratislava can indulge in traditional Slovakian dishes, enjoy Slovakian mulled wine and encounter an unparalleled cultural experience.

“Tyršák is an ideal place for meeting friends in a safe environment in the fresh air, either as a pleasant stop on walks along the Tyrš embankment or directly on the heated terraces of Tyršák,” explained Michal Svarinský, the managing director of the festival.

The Winter Tyršák also thinks about the future. Their sustainable efforts include sorting waste on-site and using recycled cups and plates. Bio-waste is, furthermore, sorted in a composting plant.

In addition, the festival will attract art lovers. An exhibition will showcase photographs by Ján Šebík from November 1989, and in December, another exhibition will feature the multi-genre festival Humans of [fjúžn] by Piotr Gąsk and Jana Gombíková. Visitors will once again find a pre-Christmas atmosphere in a safe environment at the place, where during the summer season, visitors enjoyed refreshing drinks.

Freedom, truth and love are concepts whose anchoring in society says a lot about where its future will lead. Jano Šebík, whose exhibition is featured, captured the atmosphere of the Gentle Revolution, whose actors were driven by the desire to direct Slovakia to a more democratic tomorrow.

Bratislava Christmas Market postponed to next year

The Bratislava Christmas Market has been cancelled due to the current unfavourable epidemiological situation. The festive highlight for visitors to the picturesque Slovakian capital, with a delightful array of stalls and activities scattered around the city, will thus take place next December. The festive December is a perfect opportunity for incentive tours and meeting planners to discover the city ahead of planning an event or conference in one of Europe’s most sought after host destinations.
